Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 the third installment in the real-time strategy video game series from EA Los Angeles Studios. Smooth and engaging cooperative game play with strong naval elements ensures 8/10 score.
Being a some what experienced gamer, Sci-Fi RTS video games were never my cup of tea. Yet Red Alert has always been able to suck me in for hours.
Red Alert3 continues the saga of the swift game play, impressive unit design and cheesy Hollywood-ish full motion cut scenes. Although RA3's story is not one of its strong points and not keeping in mind that it is briefed to you by beautiful women in ridiculous outfits before every mission, it seems RA3 creators aims for that dark comedy plot that can ensure some giggles from you once or twice throughout the game.
RA3 returns with the good old U.S.S.R, The Allies, and introducing The Empire Of The Rising Sun.RA3 introduce a very entertaining feature which is the cooperative game play, this means that you are no longer a lone wolf in the middle of the war,you know have an ally to keep you company. The AI of this feature is so advanced is praiseworthy and when your ally is given an order by you be sure you wont be disappointed. This feature is integrated online where you can switch the computer ally for a human one where you can battle .. against a computer enemy ( go figures).
And although you have an ally on your journey within the game's campaign missions, the levels is some times too hard for the both of you and some time it is a walk in the park, meaning that the levels is not maintained probably to ensure a easy flowing game play.
At the end, Command And Conquer: Red Alert 3 offers a great experience that I recommend every one to try specifically the diversity of the three factions wither it is the slow, heavy and powerful U.S.S.R or the technically advanced & airborne Allies and last but not least the transformers of the Rising Sun.
EA game did manage not to screw this one around all that much as they normally do. Yet there is room for improvement and I hope with the new DLC that will be released next month will fix these problems.
8/10
