Review
Infinity Ward enabled many War World II fanatics to relive the war that changed the sake of earth for ever. But with 2007 Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward steps "forward" into a more modern direction and brings with it the best next-generation first person shooter experience I have ever had!.
COD4's solid story spans in many different locations within the world in the hunt of a Middle Eastern terrorist group. You are first introduced to the game as a new recruit of the British S.A.S , named Soap Mactavish. While on the other side of town , Sgt. Paul Jackson takes charge and your now a Marine executing mission against Al-Asad the leader of the terrorist group.
Graphics
The graphical aspect of the game is almost perfect. The characters are well drawn , environments are made with perfect attention to details. In COD4 the small details such as a flashing light of tracers or the splash of blood you see after you snipe the head of your enemy. Explosion is way too good to even describe, but I have one word for it .. breath-taking. The Night Vision mode always bugged me in FPS games but not in COD4 .. its a very joyful ride when your using it because you can see them .. and they don't ..truly don't!
Performance
The game is one of the most graceful software to ever set foot on my PC, the game runs beautifully never lags or seems to have any bugs. The default controls are one of the best ever made as everything is in their right place and you shouldn't dare to change anything. The AI of your comrades are one of the best ever seen in such games, they seem to know what they are doing and damn does they look good doing it.So its better to follow than actually think to lead
Game Play
The game's campaign is one of the best gaming experiences a hardcore and casual gamers can ever have. The direction of the missions and the amount of action you are served will swipe you off your feet and make you feel like your in Iraq and you are one feet away from dying . The campaign also treats you with a few significant, highly dramatic cut scenes that will blow your mind, you will be drooling with amazement on how well they are executed.
Call of Duty 4's GUI is great and it has been improved very well. While the learning curve is virtually instant staying alive is not as easy as The BeeGee's would've wanted you to !
While the single player campaign of the game is so good it finishes in a flash and leaves you craving form a hell lot more, I was really astonished that the campaign would finish in a bit over 7 hours. And might you think to heighten the difficulty level of the game its provides too much of a challenge to even the hardcore gamer and may damage the enjoyment of the game itself
This how ever is well than made up with the multiplayer mode of the game as it adds an amazing dimension to the experience. Although the elements of the multiplayer game play is not revolutionary the added perks and upgrades within gives an never dying playability to this excellent shooter video game.
Conclusion
Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare is such a strong game almost complete, the short single player campaign and a few weak points within the game play takes is one step back from being the ultimate first person video game .
