Bit. Trip Beat is a downloadable action music game comprised of three addicting levels reminiscent of the classic game Pong… with special twists only the Wii can offer.

WiiWare presents Bit. Trip Beat, a short but difficult game for only 600 Wii Points. Simply put, you must avoid missing balls to up your score. Colored blocks fly at you and you bounce them back by twisting your Wiimote. By battling enemies, you can increase the musical score by single notes, causing the music and visuals to become more intricate. The multiplier system is based on remaining miss-free. If you miss? Back to past… simple Bit. Trip Beat in black and white.

Addictive in its simplicity, this rhythm game pushes you to beat the challenges. As the difficulty and patterns become more complex, you may see some clever hints from current enemies about the positions of those coming up.

The virtual tour of gaming technological history takes you from single pixels and metallic beats to 3D models and complicated tracks. The three long levels would have been more appealing as 6 shorter ones as it gets tough on the eyes after awhile.

4 person co-op play is available, but can be frustrating to play. It can be difficult to determine where you are amidst a sea of lines. Sticking to single player is the way to go to get maximum enjoyment of the game.

A good deal at 600 WiiPoints or $6.00, Bit. Trip Beat will keep you busy as you replay to beat your best scores. Simple and easy to learn, this is a great way for the Bit. Trip franchise to begin.
